The Ashland Museum hosts programs and events throughout the year including HistoryTalks, guided walking tours of historic Woodland Cemetery, holiday guided walking tours of neighborhoods with a reception in a historic home, Untold Stories: Growing Up in Ashland/Hanover, Black and White Experiences, and youth programs.

HistoryTalks

The Ashland Museum sponsors HistoryTalks throughout the year covering topics that appeal to almost everyone.

HistoryTalks are at 7:00 pm in the Truist Theater (formerly the SunTrust Theater) in Brock Commons, 304 Henry St, on the campus of Randolph-Macon College in Ashland.

HistoryTalks are free and open to the public.

Historic Woodland Cemetery Tours

A guided walking tour of Ashland’s historic Woodland Cemetery led by Susan Tucker, Woodland Cemetery Administrator. We explore Woodland and the stories it tells about Ashland and Randolph-Macon College since 1862.

Museum members are free and non-members are $15. Registration is required. To reserve your spot, call (804-368-7314) or email (ashlandmuseum@comcast.net) the Museum.

Untold Stories Panel 2014

Untold Stories: Growing Up in Ashland/Hanover, Black & White Experiences

The Untold Stories program is held each February on a Sunday afternoon in conjunction with Black History Month. A panel of 6 people tell their stories regarding a variety of topics, including education, busing, housing, work, church activities, and more.

Each panel is different and each program is different. Expect to cry, laugh, and be amazed at the stories you will hear.

Untold Stories is held in partnership with the Hanover Arts & Activities Center, The Hanover County Black Heritage Society, and the Downtown Ashland Association.

Summer Kid Programs

The Ashland Museum loves kids! Every summer, the museum hosts camps for children. Learn about fishing, Secretariat and more! Stay tuned for dates.

Summer camps are free, but reservations are required.
